The 7th meeting of the Expert Group “Blockchain Technology in Supply Chain Management” was again split in two parts:
Prior to the meeting, the members shared their Blockchain projects with the group. In the first part of the meeting, we categorized these use cases along several dimension. The participant worked in pairs using an interactive google form to collect their findings. This allowed us to get some real-time analysis showing some tendencies about project outcome. Since we looked at corporate use-cases, the funding was usually not a challenge – as opposed to startups. However, it turns out that the ecosystem and technological uncertainties play a major role.
In the second part, we opened the meeting for guests. The ZHAW Center for Enterprise Development presented an idea for an Innosuisse project involving a blockchain-based audit platform. Such a platform could help to eliminate inefficiencies for regional labels. Within two workshops, the Expert Group helped to get a clearer idea on the scope and the technological backbone of a possible backbone.
We concluded the meeting with an apéro where further ideas were exchanged. In the next meeting in January, we would like to show some more advanced analysis of the use case data collected within the Expert Groups to help create new knowledge for the members.
